In February 2012, I visited one of the most remarcable Romanian movie critics, Irina Margareta Nistor, at her home in Bucharest. The purpose of my visit: taking her an interview for ”Libertatea pentru femei” magazine. The nice lady offered me some cookies and next to them was a napkin with the image of the famous actrisse Audrey Hepburn, in ”Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. I appologied because I was on diet and I didn’t wanted to eat sweets, but I asked her if I can keep the napkin. ”I’m glad you like it” she said. ”It’s a special edition, and I bought the set from Berlin Film Festival”.
Among the many interviews I took every week in the past years, the only autograph I asked for was back then. To her! And she wrote me a beautiful dedication: ”For Corina, to get to Tiffany, with a movie billionaire, if possible”. Signed Irina Margareta Nistor. She added ”You know, from all of my trips in the West, the destination I love most is New York City. Even though I visited it pretty late, not until 2010”.
How I started My Breakfast at Tiffany’s
I ended the interview, I was thrilled about that day and I admired the napkin for a few other days. Then I forgot about it. The time passed by and in September 2013 I arrived to New York for the first time in my life. It was a dream come true. A wish I had forever, but I didn’t really espected to happend. From the beggining of my vacation I went to see 5th Avenue with my own eyes. And then suddenly there i was, in front of the Trump Tower also and then a few steps away… Tiffany&Co. That’s how I started My Breakfast at Tiffany’s! And not with a donut but with an apple. Because i was in the Big Apple.
Watching Grace de Monaco at Bragadiru Palace
The funny thing is that I totally forgotten about my napken with the dedication written on it. I remembered only recently. And because I met again Irina Margareta Nistor, at the premiere party of Grace de Monaco movie in Romania, held at Bragadiru Palace, I asked Irina to take a photo together. She was very happy when I told her that her wish for me kind’ve became true. 🙂
And maybe I will continue writing about this story after Irina will tell me that she attended the Oscars, in Los Angeles, where she didn’t had the chance to go… yet!!!
